My water bug

I'm so happy my kiddo likes the water...for now at least, because we have some pool play dates coming up in my mom's group.

I thought she'd want to stay on my hip like she did with Barker in Florida but she was all about the whale floater with the toys in it.

She was concentrating on getting the toys out of the floater.

And some times she'd take a break from that to splash about a bit.

10 months old

Audrey is 10 months old now. I still can't believe it.

And with every month that passes it gets a little harder to get her to sit still next to Oliver for her time line picture. She now tries to hug him, eat the paper or crawl off the chair to get to her big jungle toy. That's why I used this photo. It shows the bent paper and her leaning on him. It also shows her chubby legs!

Cookie Monster's Birthday

We had a play date today over at Johanna's to celebrate the Cookie Monster's Birthday. Which means the moms ate cookies while the kids played with toys and passed around each other's sippy cups. We had a great time and appreciate Johanna always opening her home to us.

Audrey, Camden, Alec, Kinleigh, Ella, Grayden and Addie.

Kinleigh is such a little Mommy.

Besties.

Ella

All the girls playing with dolls, except for Audrey of course, who would rather chew on things.

Ella and Audrey are finally starting to get some hair!

Audrey and Dixie

My friend Misty whom I often refer to as my 'cousin Misty' just bought a new house so we went over to check out their new digs. Misty's daughter Dixie is five weeks older than Audrey. They played well together but they're both really into pulling up at this age so they kept trying to stand while holding onto each other, which didn't work so well. But we're glad that they had us over to see their cute new home and let Audrey play with Dixie's toys. I took my camera out to snap some pics but they didn't turn out so great and Misty's was still packed up. Hopefully I'll get some better shots next visit.

Dixie and Audrey.

They took turns trying to pull up on each other.

A special congrats!

I wanted to send out a very special congrats to my good friend Staci and her husband Joedy who are expecting! I couldn't be more thrilled for them. And while I'm at it... happy anniversary you two! I know today marks two years and I can't imagine a better gift than finding out there is a baby on the way!

Staci and Audrey.
I took this picture about the time she got pregnant and I warned her before she played with Audrey that she has a habit of being a little fertility fairy for my friends... and now she's struck again! Yay!

Family Summer Vacation 09, Perdido Key, FL

We decided to take Audrey to the beach for the first time before it got too hot for her little self. So the morning after Jeff and Andrea's wedding in Shreveport, we headed to Perdido Key, FL. We rented a great condo on the beach so Audrey and Daddy could play in the pool and the ocean. She wasn't sure about the sand at first but she soon got used to it with a little help from her beach toys. She tasted new foods at some awesome restaurants and she loved the zoo. She also started walking along the couches and tables at the condo like an old pro. I think I'm most proud of her for doing so well in the car both there and back and for leaving her hats on in the sunshine. She's such a good girl.
We had a great time at the beach and not one of us got a sunburn so I consider it a great success! I can't wait to see what she thinks about the beach and water from summer to summer.

We took tons of pictures so here are some samples.

First time in a pool.

She loved putting her beach bucket on her head.

She also enjoyed putting her toys in her bucket and then dumping them back out again. She does this at home a lot. I find socks stuck everywhere!

First time feeling the ocean.

She wasn't crazy about sand being on her hands at first because she likes to put her fingers in her mouth.

First time feeling the sand between her toes.

Making her way around the condo when we arrived.

Yummm.

She loves to fly with Mommy.

Funny face.

Staying hydrated.

Splashing with Daddy in the pool.

Our first family beach trip!

I love my sweet girl.

Flying again.

This is my favorite picture from the trip. She's such a ham! I just love her!

Loving her beach toys.

All packed up and ready to head home. We'll miss you Florida!
