12 Months Old

Hudson is 12 months old.
Wow.
Where does the time go?
And how am I supposed to continue taking his time line pictures?
This session was a real battle. I lost, if you were wondering. I tried to get call in reinforcements but Barker and Audrey were out finding leprechauns (pecans) so I was on my own. I went down in flames, retreated to the computer to see if I could salvage and image or two, and Hudson then decided to attack the presents under the tree. Ugh! Help!

I had a few that were so close to being time line worthy but I finally just threw in the towel. Let me recover from this attempt and we'll try again at 15 months.

Hudson is ONE!

I was in tears last night because I felt like I wasn't able to hold Hudson long enough before bed on the last night he was my 11 month old baby.

MY BABY

This morning he woke up (early) as my 1 year old. Ouch.
Seriously, ouch.

But I didn't have time to be sad about him growing up waaaaaay too fast. I had to take him to his one year well check. I know, it's mean to make them go to the doctor on their birthdays but if I book them another day I'll likely forget. But I could never forget 12-21 which Barker refers to as 'the best and worst day of my life'...poor guy. He's so traumatized by the whole near death experience bit of Huddie's birthday.

So we went to Hudson's appointment and his pedi said all is well. 30th for weight and 40th for height so pretty healthy and average just like Audrey's always been. No big surprises there.

Then we stole daddy away from work for lunch like we typically do when the kids have a birthday. Audi was a little disappointed we didn't do Chuck E Cheese like we do on her big day but I felt like that was just begging for the flu.
 Birthday Boy!

not sure what this is about

He really enjoyed his cake!

He ate the whole thing.
Terrible parenting move, I know.
Don't care.

When he finished it he tried to lick his hands clean.

And when he realized it really was all gone...
 total devastation.
Didn't see that coming.

Cake was of course followed by a very thorough bath
(not sure what's up with the crazy eyes)

which resulted in blue water.

It was a good day. A really good day.
So glad those Mayans weren't any better at keeping up with their calendars than I am.

Hudson's First Birthday (and several other parties, too!)

We held Hudson's birthday party a little early this year, for about a million reasons. Sadly, I don't have many decent pictures. I had my camera on the wrong setting while the kids were on the carousel. And worst, I didn't get a single family picture. Sigh.
But here's the few I did manage to get...they're just as lame as the party I threw together. It was supposed to be a Grinch themed shindig. The person in charge of parties at the carousel said I could invite just ten kids and couldn't bring in any food other than a cake (no green Grinch punch) and no balloons. So you couldn't really tell there was a theme. She was kind of a Grinch at this party.

opening gifts later

He really liked all of his gifts. He received about a thousand cars and plays with every single one. He's such a boy. Cars and any kind of a ball = one happy Hudson.

We left the party and had lunch with Jay and Repsie and their baby, then Barker, Hudson and I hit up Simon's first birthday party, Audrey went to Ciara's 5th birthday party, followed by an ugly sweater party. Whew!

Poor Barker hadn't seen his sweater until we pulled into the parking lot. He put it on and said "It jingles. I jingle. Ugh." ha! It has puppies on it with bells on their necks. I'm mean, I know. You can't see mine behind my hair (smart) but it has drunken reindeer on it. Turbo tacky. $3.50 not so well spent.
