Who Needs Sleep?

Son sleeps through the night nearly every night. Am I enjoying sleeping in you ask? No. Cause I lost my mind and signed up for 5 am boot camp. Again. I did this last year when I was suffering from a case of the crazies. Only that was just 3 days a week. Luckily I got pregnant and there was no way I could have done boot camp through morning sickness.
This time I raised to bar to 4 days a week for a minimum of 8 weeks. That's right. I have a 3 month old that sleeps through the night and yet I'm voluntarily up by 4:20 am to go sweat. Legally insane.
Thank goodness Barker is an Advocare distributor so we get Spark at a discount! Want some? gettofit.com    Shameless self promotion right there ; )

A Letter to Adam Part II

Dear Adam,

Thank you for you feedback. I'm sorry about the tardiness of my blog posts. I've had some technical difficulties here at Casa Barker as of late. My MacBook Pro decided it did not in fact like the Internet and refused to connect. Pro my foot. Audrey's iPad is more professional. But don't fret, Barker came home with a new Mac for me so I am now able to upload pictures and update this blog. I know you've been waiting patiently and I appreciate that. Please accept my not so sincere apology and keep in mind that opening day is just around the corner. Soon you'll have things other than my blog and Jerome to entertain you. In the mean time please enjoy my favorite time wasting blog, http://www.27bslash6.com/

                                                                                                                      Warmest Regards,
                                                                                                                                 Casey

Deep In The Heart of Texas

Yes, I know people get sick of seeing kids in blue bonnets. It's so done. But for tradition's sake I'm going to be like all other southern mothers and keep at it... until they get old enough that it just looks ridiculous. I won't torture them forever.
I hadn't planned on taking pics, we were just making a quick trip to the store and I decided to grab my camera since I had Barker with me. With two kids I thought I'd need the extra pair of hands. So since it was spur of the moment there isn't nice lighting, oops. But they'll do.
 Audrey loves 'her baby.'

Big sister!
She's a seasoned pro at blue bonnet pics.

I just adore my sweet girl.

Where's Waldo?

One of these things is not like the other...

Reminded me of that scene in ET when Drew Barrymore hides him in a closet with her toys. Hudson didn't seem to mind. He laughed out loud when I bolted for the camera. He's a good sport. Love my boy!
And this is just half of Audrey's dolls. She carried these downstairs all by herself and much to my surprise she drug them all back upstairs the same night with out hesitation. Took her three trips. Boy I bet she's glad she didn't haul out the other half.

3 Months Old

In the blink of an eye our little guy is 3 months old! Wow! And what a wonderful 3 months it's been.
I like this kid. He's kinda like me. He likes to eat. He loves to sleep. His favorite people are Audrey and Barker. And he loves the music of U2. So yeah, we have a lot in common. When I say he likes to eat, I mean during the day he eats every 2 or 3 hours. And when I say he likes to sleep, well last night he had a bath and was in bed by 7pm. We didn't hear a peep out of him until 7:30am. (Audrey didn't get up until 8:30 and then it was off to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.) Oh, and U2? Well we have several of the Rock a Bye Baby cds we play when he goes to bed. Audrey of course loved The Beatles. And when Hudson was in our room we played Weezer. Then Barker's Aunt Jamie gave Hudson U2 and The Rolling Stones. Recently Barker switched him from U2 to the Stones and he woke up 3 nights in a row after weeks of sleeping through the night. So Daddy switched it back to U2 and it's been sound sleeping ever since. Barker and I have seen them in concert together twice. I guess we could take Hudson next time, but he'd probably just fall asleep.
I really thought life with 2 kids would take some getting used to but it's been business as usual around here. Feels like he's always been with us. Maybe it's because I kept my niece last year when she was an infant, or because Audrey is so helpful and independent. I don't know. But it's been a breeze having both. Now 3, well that might be a different story seeing as how I only have two hands.

Play Ball!

I recently took the kids to watch their daddy play ball with Audrey's beloved Uncle Jay.
Audrey ran around with new friends but Hudson watched the whole game. He was so chill and seemed to really enjoy being outside.
After the game we went with some of the guys to Hooters. Classy, I know. But Hudson didn't seem to mind. He sure did eat a lot while we were there. Wonder why?
