Happy 1st Birthday Audrey!

One year ago today Barker and I were blessed with this wonderful little girl.
I still can't believe it's been a year.

We started out celebrating Audrey's 1st birthday by going to lunch with Daddy.

And when we got home there was a gift from my Auntie Di on the porch.

Then when Daddy got home we opened the gifts we bought her.

She now has nearly every Yo Gabba Gabba toy.

She loves it. That's a lot of plastic balls for me to clean up everyday, but if it makes her happy, so be it.

And like most kids...she likes cake. Her sweet tooth might be the only trait she got from me.

1 year old

My sweet baby is now 1 year old.
I know I'm supposed to be happy but a little bit of me is sad that she is no longer a little bitty baby. I'm looking forward to all the fun times we have ahead of us but I will miss that sweet baby smell and a million other things.

But I must admit, taking our monthly picture gets much harder with every passing month.

And finally, she tried to grab me....she lunged forward and I of course caught her...but in doing so I scratched her cheek a bit. (Sorry baby.) So that was the end of our photo session.

Happy 1st birthday sweet girl! These have been the best 12 months of my life!

Welcome Little Liam!

A very special congrats go out to our friends Will and Cara Wallace who welcomed their first child into the world this weekend. This is the first couple that our little Fertility Fairy Audrey worked her magic on. They wanted the gender to be a surprise so this picture was taken when the little one arrived and they found out it was a boy, William Anthony Wallace III.

They will call him Liam. And Liam is going to be so very loved.

What's cookin?

When we got out of the pool Friday night there were two huge boxes on the front porch. Audrey's Pop got her a big new kitchen for her birthday and it was shipped straight to us. Barker spent the rest of the night putting it together. Now she'll randomly bring us a slice of pizza or some hash browns.

Frank McCourt 1930-2009

I am heartbroken to hear about the passing of Frank McCourt, whom I love so dearly. I will miss his stories so very much.

We had a ball at Thomas Blancher's 1st birthday party this weekend in Shreveport. The weather was great, the food was even better and tons of friends showed up to play. I took over 100 photos with my camera alone, so here are just a few from the big day.
