Tea for Two

Recently when Audrey was at school the two littlest Barkers enjoyed a tea time.

Hudson preferred a bowl to a tea cup.

Ever the gentleman he poured Arden a bowl first.

And when she needed a bit of help drinking it...

Well he helped her with that, too.

Another Weekend of Tagging Along

This weekend we went with Barker to Lafayette. He coached in the state cup so the kids and I visited The Children's Museum of Acadiana. Well, first we drove around in circles for a while, confused, because I don't speak or read French. The downtown Lafayette area is beautiful and adorned with an abundance of boutiques, toy stores, book shops, cafes and museums...but the street signs are in French. The signs in the museum were also in French. I... am not French. But we eventually found our way to the children's museum and I hope we can visit some of the other places next time we're down that way.
Hudson was so excited to 'drive' an ambulance.
They went back to this area several times.

They also really enjoyed the Cafe des Enfants.
Audrey wants to open a restaurant one day and Hudson also loves to cook.
No surprise that he made donuts.

He also really enjoyed grocery shopping. I wish I had remembered to bring my camera but I rarely sleep so my memory isn't so sharp. So blurry camera phone pics are all I got.

   Making a bubble tunnel

Muffin also liked the dental area. The boy loves brushing his teeth.

The TV news anchor was my fav. They were so cute : )

   More bubbles

Huddie making dad a crawfish smoothie.

Hudson's favorite foods are sprouts and tofu. Just kidding. He's my son, he loves donuts and cake. He yells and points at them at the grocery store. I don't let him have either often, so when he had the chance to work in the cafe he didn't mess around with the menus or the phone or putting on a chef costume. Oh no. He headed right for the cake.

Like always, trains were a hit.

Once the kids got hungry we grabbed some Subway and checked into the hotel. I looked like a crazy person carrying a baby, 3 bags, food, a purse, my drink and dragging 2 big kids across a parking lot.
By the time we made it up to our room we were all exhausted. We all ate and the two littlest Barkers napped.

Arden Wren happy after her nap.

I took a pic from further away to show how little she still looks on a bed.

Both passed out at nap time. Mommy success!

That night we went to dinner at a place with face painting, balloon animals and a game room. Audrey still doesn't like her face painted. Like most kids she used to be all about it but now she says it gets stuck in her hair. Weird.

The next day we went to the fields with Barker. The weather was beautiful. Audrey decorated the parking lot with chalk. Arden ate and napped.
Hudson found sticks and some equipment with a flat bed trailer. He stared and circled it while alternating bites of apple and 'whoas'.

On the way home we stopped in Natchitoches (I think that's how it's spelled) so I could nurse Arden in the parking lot of the gas station/meat pie market. I'm fairly sure I've nursed all of my children in that parking lot. I'm classy like that. Plus there's nothing else in sight for another 45 minutes to an hour so my options were limited. Oh the things we do for love.
