Have You Seen My Baseball?

Tuesday we headed down to the ballpark in Arlington to cheer on the Rangers. They didn't give us much reason to cheer that night, but we had a great time regardless.
I didn't take my camera since it weighs 800lbs, and it looked like rain. So these pics are either from my phone (sad, I know) or stolen from Johanna's blog.

Daddy and his #1 Fan

Audrey tried Sour Straws for the first time. She is not the fan that I am.

cheering!

We ran into our besties, the Bakers.

The girls loved playing together!

Even though we made them take pictures with these big headed things. Grayden didn't even flinch! She's so grown up now that she's 3, you see.
As soon as we walked out of the park Audrey said she had fun at the game. The next morning before school I asked again if she had fun and she said "I had fun in my mouth last night!" Which for a 2 year old translates to "Thanks for letting me eat french fries, a pretzel and ice cream!"

Swimmin'

For a while now Barker has been bugging me to get Audrey a pet. Which of course means HE wants an English bulldog. Sadly for him I have a no animals in the house rule.
But a little while ago I decided on a whim to bend the rule just a bit and bought Audrey a fish.

He lives in Audrey's game room.

And since he belongs to Audrey, I let her name him. When I asked her what his name is she said something along the lines of "Buddy Fish Swimmin' Baby Callie." That's quite the mouthful. So I asked her a few more times though out the afternoon and every time she simply said "Swimmin"... so Swimmin' it is. She feeds him, tells him good morning, bye, and good night.

good night fish kisses

Hopefully this little fish won't get eaten by one of Barker's friends on a dare like the last one he had!

Easter 2011

What a busy Easter week we've had. In addition to church functions (apparently she met a donkey on Palm Sunday) Audrey had 4 egg hunts this year.
The first was at her school. Ms. Tracy gave them Easter baskets and foam stickers to decorate them with.

Then the hunt was on. The 2 and 3 year olds combined classes for the hunt.

Notice the sour look on her face. Kylie was trying to hold her hand but Audrey wanted no part of it. So after this pic was taken I stuck her hiney in time out.

After school I took her to the Prosper Moms Easter egg hunt and party at the newest park in town.

She enjoyed the new park a lot.

Her cousin Callie enjoyed being outside.

But then it was time to find the eggs.

She made quite the haul.

This weekend we went to Ella's 3rd birthday party. It was a painting party but Mieke decided to host an egg hunt there, as well.

There were some bigger kids there so she only got 3 eggs, one of which a super sweet little boy named Adam gave to her. What a gentleman : )

looking for fish

And then it was off to another moms group's Easter egg hunt and pot luck dinner in Providence Village. The food was really good and the kids loved finding eggs and playing on the playground afterward. It's so nice of them to always invite us, even though we don't live in Providence.

Once again, it was go time.

Audrey took off in a different direction from the other kids and her gamble paid off. I guess after 4 hunts she's a pro. Her basket was filled to the top. Her Daddy's co workers will have lots of jelly beans this week, thanks to her egg finding skills.

When she would find an egg she'd turn around and show it to me and her Daddy, whom she now calls 'Honey'. "Honey, I need a drink. Honey, I wanna take a bath." It's pretty cute. But not as cute as watching her twirl in front of the mirror in her Easter dress.

checking out her loot

She was all over the playground but what she liked the most was Barker helping her on the monkey bars....over and over and over again.

No need to work out his arms at the gym today.

Oh, and the Easter bunny made her a happy girl this year.
He left some of her favorite things.

When she awoke to her Easter basket she said "Tinkerbell!" Then she noticed the dress and skirt and said "My favorite clothes!" And when she got to the princess and Tink pajamas she exclaimed "My favorite princesses! I love my Easter basket! I can't wait to show my Daddy!"

She immediately asked to put her skirt on, then took Tinkerbell and crawled in bed with her Daddy.
That's the best way to start a day : )

Slip and Slide

Wow! What a weekend! Friday started out stressful. The insurance adjuster decided we needed a new roof, windows, mail box, paint on trim, garage doors, stain on the fence, shudders, and Audrey's swing set and both a/c units. And the adjuster for Barker's truck decided it wasn't totaled, yay, just $9 grand in damages. I'm not excited about all of those repairs but I can't complain. Of everyone I know here in Prosper we're the only one with out shattered windows so I feel like we lucked out big time. But after all that mess we were ready for the weekend, as I'm sure most Prosper residents were.

We went to my little brother's house and Audrey scored an Easter basket from my mom which she enjoyed very much. Unfortunately I started to feel terrible as soon as we walked in the door. I felt like I was coming down with something. It was soon time to leave to meet my older brother for dinner and luckily by the time we arrived I was feeling fine. Guess it was just some weird fluke.

Jeff and the boys met us at Trail Dust in Denton. I thought the boys would enjoy the slide and dance floor after being in a car from Austin all afternoon.

Audrey and Barker cut a rug, which is what they do in our living room most nights.

But Audrey got to the top of the slide and decided it was too high.

So Barker went to retrieve her.

And Beck and Bristol put the slide to good use.

It was the perfect choice for dinner. Food was really good. Exceeded my expectations. And the kids had a great time! When we left Audrey was worn out. She kept asking Barker to take her to her bed. I think it was a good 2 hours past her bed time but it was Friday and her cousins were in town so she was a trooper!

The next morning we had to wake her up early to head to the Warrior Dash with the usual suspects.

Mike, Zane, Barker and Jeff
Apparently Jeff was the only one that noticed I was about to take the standard 'before' picture.

While the guys ran I got some much needed sunshine and girl talk with my beloved Lacy.

Zane got 3rd place, even with a sprained ankle.

His forehead was all that was visible in the final obstacle, the barbed wire mud pit.

Barker wasn't far behind him.

Not bad considering he ran a half marathon Sunday and has played in 2 soccer games since then.

Hot on his heels was Jeff.

This water is 6 feet deep....just kidding.

Then the Lamber...

I some how missed Kris and V. Bummer.

My dirty husband

He stuck his hand out to Audrey but she wanted nothing to do with him. She kept talking about how all the runners were dirty, shooooooooey, and needed to take a bath or shower.

Audrey enjoyed taking pictures with Lacy's super cute hot pink camera.

Mike

I didn't remember to get the typical 'after' pic. This will have to do. Zane was already semi clean by the time I saw him.

Kris and V

Audrey loved playing with her cousins while everyone cleaned up.

They threw a football and ran up and down a hill.

And of course they danced. Audrey is a dancing Queen and she doesn't care who's looking.

Sweet cousins. She hugs them non stop and tells them how much she loves them. If Barker was to ever get a job transfer to Austin, these kids are one of the many reasons I wouldn't be disappointed.

making friends

Setting your free beer in your kid's stroller while you change clothes, now that's good parenting. Oops.

And a mostly clean after shot.
Good times : )
