Sorry I've been so behind on the blog lately but I rarely get on my desk top. I just really don't have time for much more than checking emails on my phone so I go weeks at a time with out even thinking about the blog and I never carry my camera anymore. So get used to crappy cell phone pics. Sorry.

My Babies LOVE each other (so far)
I just adore how Hudson lights up when Audrey walks into the room. He squeals with delight. She never gets put out with him. She always shares her toys, food, drinks, whatever.
I snapped this super sweet moment at Barker's softball game last week.
I'd never thought to tell them to hold hands, as I usually put Hud Muffin in a stroller. So this really brought tears to my eyes to look up and see them strolling along behind their dad, just holding hands. Oh how I love my little family.
Mother's Day
In the past we haven't done anything out of the ordinary for Mother's Day. It's on Sunday so we usually spend it as a family, a nice breakfast, church, and then to Barker's soccer game and then he'll usually make something I really like for dinner.
But this year Barker decided to plan something more specific. It was wonderful. He really knows me. I love to celebrate holidays like Mother's Day and Father's Day doing something family friendly. So he decided to take us to a petting zoo type place called Gators and Friends. It was fun! The kids loved it, too.
Audrey was somewhat hesitant to feed the animals by hand but not Hudson.
He took a handful of food and shoved his whole fist in a goat's mouth!
Hysterical! So then Audrey decided she could too. They fed all kinds of
animals.
She rode a pony.
And they watched gators swim and eat.
Hudson called them dogs and
refused to budge on that.
Then we headed to Superior for lunch to get my
mexican food fix.
Audrey made Barker take her to the shops to buy me a
gift. She was adamant on what she wanted to get me. Flowers. So Barker
let her pick out flowers for me.
She chose purple and yellow tulips, her favorite, to remind me of her.
And another bouquet of daisies, pink carnations and red roses because
she said she remembered I love roses. Sweet girl.
Her school held a muffins with mom morning and they made flowers out of
Audrey's hand prints on yellow paper, her favorite color. She also drew a picture of our favorite thing to do together. She said her favorite thing to do with me is eat cake and ride my bike. Maybe if I didn't eat cake with her I wouldn't have to ride my bike!
Her Mother's Day survey went a little something like this-
How much does your Mommy weigh? 60 pounds
How old is your Mommy? 6 years old
What's your favorite thing to do together? Vacuum
Best thing about your Mom? She's sweet and kind.
What's your Mom good at? Riding a bike
What's her favorite thing to eat? Strawberries
What's her favorite drink? Lemonade
What's the best thing your Mom cooks? Pancakes and cookies
What's her favorite TV show? I have no idea
What does your Mom do to relax? Take a nap
And Barker had 2 soccer games, too. Wouldn't be Mother's Day for us with out a big pre-church breakfast followed by soccer. It was a memorable weekend, for sure!
Disney Princesses on Ice!
All of our friends in Dallas went to see the Disney Princesses on Ice a while ago. So I was stoked when I learned it was coming to Bossier! Audrey hated that ponds in Texas never iced over enough to ice skate on, so when we moved to Louisiana she asked if she could ice skate here. I hated to break it to her that we'd likely NEVER live in a place cold enough to make that dream come true. Yay for malls! But I could take her to watch the Princesses skate.
I didn't put her in one of her Princess dresses because it was 40 that day. Burr. But I did dress her in warm clothes in Belle colors of yellow and red.
She was shocked when we walked down to our surprisingly good seats and she realized where we were. Worth every penny. Then the Princesses came out (her favorite, Tiana, was first) and she was disappointed she couldn't go meet them and skate with them. But she enjoyed the show, nonetheless. She participated when they'd ask questions, point out certain things... like when she felt they should have done something differently, that Cinderella's step sisters aren't nice girls, or that the fire fly was skating instead of flying. ha!
I bought her several over priced plastic souvenirs like any good parent. She and Hudson love the light up wand that makes noise and she drinks from her snow cone cup daily.
After the show I took her to lunch and as a special treat I let her have juice (instead of water or white milk) and dessert.
Sweet girl wanted to take her dessert home to share with her baby brother. (Insert awwwww here) So I bought both her brother and her daddy desserts of their own and we took them home to enjoy as a family and warm up.
Hudson was thrilled she thought of him and loved his chocolate mousse.
What a wonderful mommy/daughter day!
Carnival
We went to a carnival downtown recently. Audrey rode some big kid rides alone for the first time (eek!) but still rode several smaller kid rides with her daddy. Some that she wanted to ride alone were hysterical to watch. She'd start all smiles and waves but as the ride would go faster she was all business, holding on tightly and stone faced. Ha!
I, on the other hand, was holding my breath. I'm not so good at letting her take risks, but I know it's an important part of childhood so I suffer through it.
Doesn't Huddie look thrilled that sister can ride big girl rides while he's stuck in the stroller.
Lame.
Audrey also liked playing games. She won a chick!
But Hudson enjoyed dancing.
While Audrey and Daddy were on the Ferris Wheel I let Hud stretch his legs in the shade. He's a dancing fool.
Audrey wanted cotton candy. She asked if she could have it even though she didn't like it when she tried it at a Ranger game last year. Said she wanted to try it again. Still a no go.
Hudson didn't like it either so poor Barker got stuck with it.
Fun times for our party of 4.
