iBaby

Audrey is only 6 months old and she can already work my Mac Book Pro better than I can. She loves making things move by using the touch pad.

Audrey is 6 months old!

Audrey is 6 months old today. She looks excited because she doesn't yet know that you get another round of shots at 6 months.

Splish Splash

My friend Melissa posted some cute pictures of her daughter in the bath tub and it brought to my attention that I hadn't taken any bath tub pictures of Audrey since her 1st week home. So here are a few pictures from tonight's "Bath time with Bevo"

This is her mid-splash. She chose today to discover how to splash the water. That adds a whole new element to bath time. She also learned how to take her diaper off today. I thought it was a fluke at 1st and reattached it. Then she did it again. With a little luck she'll forget about it as quickly as she learned.

Checking out her toes. Those are also her Daddy's toes.

And blowing bubbles at me. My sweet faced girl.

Toast of the Town

I let Audrey have half a slice of dry toast for breakfast on our snow day with Daddy because she's always trying to feed herself anyway. She looks happy but she would have much rather had our cinnamon muffins. Sorry kiddo.

And yes there are hearts on her sleeper and her toast. What can I say, I love her.

Fort Worth Stock Show 09

We took Audrey to the Fort Worth Stock Show yesterday. It was a beautiful day. We saw some animals, watched some bull riding and had dinner at the Reata.

I think Audrey kinda likes 'people watching'

We saw some little piggies eating and it reminded Audrey that it was time for some milk of her own.

Petting a Scottish Highlands cow. The cutest and fuzziest thing I've ever seen.

The goats loved Audrey and she liked them, except when they would try to lick her face. She likes her personal space.

They had signs posted that said not to pick up the animals and it was hard to follow the rules. Those baby goats were so darn cute I just wanted to squeeze them!

The happiest family in the petting zoo.

There were llamas everywhere.

Those goats just loved her. So sweet.

And the Borden calf tried to eat her boots.

We watched some Jersey cows get milked. I could relate.

Watching the bull riding.

And cowboy poker. Which is a couple of guys sitting at a table. Then they let out a mad bull. It pretty much takes turns running them all over. Last one in their seat wins.

And there were these kids ages 3-7 that rode sheep. It was the cutest thing!

Audrey's Nursery

I just realized that I never posted pictures of Audrey's finished nursery and she's 5 months old. So here are a couple I snapped today.

Her Tiny Love mobile. We love it! It has black and white parts for babies that are too young to see color and vibrant colors for when they're a bit older. It also plays Bach, Mozart, nursery tunes and has a night light.

Her hutch.

I never got around to decorating her letters. Sorry Audrey.

Lots of bows yet very little hair.

And we do.

Her growth chart.

Sheet music of The Beatles song "Golden Slumbers"

Lots of books

And one beautiful napping baby.

Coming Soon...

I just wanted to take a second to say Congrats to our friends Will and Cara Wallace. They are expecting their first child in July and we couldn't be more excited for the happy Mom and Dad to be! They're going to be wonderful parents.

Audrey's 1st Food

Audrey tried carrots today for lunch.

This was the 1st time she had veggies. Up until now she had only been eating cereal.

At first she looked at her daddy like he was crazy.

But soon she was all smiles!

Happy Birthday Jackson!

My friend Megan's son Jackson turned 1 on Wednesday. We were not able to attend the party because it was in Houston and I'm just not brave enough to take Audrey on a 5 hour car ride or a flight by myself. Hopefully we will be able to make the next one.

Making Audrey's 1st Foods

We had a great time making Audrey's 1st foods this weekend. We got everything cooked, pureed, frozen and sealed. Audrey now has a freezer full of apples, pears, mango, squash, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes and carrots.

We bought some of Audrey's 1st foods and my dad grew some in his garden.

Cooking the apples and pears.

Puree

Into the storage containers.

Not as yummy as whatever Giada was making in the background.

Lots of food.

A melon scooper works great.

Being patient.

Smooch.

Audrey thought Daddy should try some too.

Daddy was sealing up the portions and the sound would startle her.

Eating cereal until it's time for real food.

Happy 1st Birthday Connor!

Connor turned 1 on January 1st but we all celebrated his birthday on Sunday.

Birthday boy tasting his icing.

All the kids that were big enough to sit at the table.

Connor and his momma.

He got some great toys.

Some of the kids and the prettiest momma around.

Optimus Prime.

Big boy walking!

Poor Audrey had to play while all the big kids got to eat cake and cup cakes.
