Memorial Weekend Crawfish Boil

This memorial weekend we went to the river for a little rest and relaxation. My dad picked up 400 lbs of crawfish, Misty brought her kiddie pool and slide, and we let the kids play while we did our best to finish off all the crawfish.

Audrey enjoyed the warm day on the river.

And we enjoyed the crawfish and jambalaya.

Misty, Dixie and Dodd came by for a little while.

As did Staci and that sweet baby Nolan.
(Neile, Jason and their kids were also down but my mac is acting up and wouldn't let me upload half of the pics I took, bummer.)

Staci making Nolan giggle was too funny.

We all took turns loving on Nolan and Audrey was no different. She patted, squeezed and kissed him every chance she got.
He was very excited for his first memorial weekend and refused to nap. I knew Staci had been quite tired lately so I put my mind to it to knock his sweet self out, even if it took all day.....and I think it took me over an hour but after rocking him every way I could think of, I finally got him to pass out. And boy did my arms feel it the next morning! It's been a long time since I rocked a 15lb baby for so long. Whew! But it was worth it, and it was even better to see all of our friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearson

This weekend we went to Grandbury for Jenn and Austin's wedding. Audrey fell asleep in the car and continued to sleep for 2 and a half hours. Barker stayed in the car with her but we finally woke her up at the reception so she could eat. This has been the first time her allergies have bothered her this year so she had the full on watery eyes and runny nose. But the bride, being a mommy herself, had bubbles and M&M's on hand which cheered Audrey right up!! I only took a couple of pics, but I can't wait to see the amazing pictures from Relish Wedding!

Ladies Who Lunch

After my sewing class Audrey and I went to my favorite restaurant in Arlington, Cafe n Chocolate, for some delicious crepes. The only thing sweeter than the dessert crepes??? Having our friends Rebekah and Margaret meet us there for a ladies lunch.

Audrey made quite a mess just so she could clean it up and sing the clean up song.

Miss Margaret chewed on her fingers and showed off those baby blues.

She just loves babies!

Dallas Children's Museum

Today our good friends the Bakers were nice enough to meet us at the Dallas Children's Museum. The girls really seemed to enjoy themselves and weren't ready to leave. Gray LOVED the dinosaurs, Audrey loved the slide and kept trying to escape my grasp to run back to it, Cam liked playing in the water, Adam (the twin's daddy) liked the hot air balloon and Johanna and I liked when the bigger kids would clear out, making it much safer for our babies to have their fun.

The girls enjoyed crawling through these tunnels and waving at the toads, snakes and spiders in the 'backyard' area.

tarantula, yikes!

They didn't play in the kitchen long, which surprised me.

But Audrey did carry the banana around for a while.

Johanna tried to show them how to use the computer.

The water area was a lot of fun. They weren't real fond of the huge bibs and would have preferred to just jump on in, clothes and all.

Cam tossing a duck.

I think they all loved the fire engine with the slide in the back.

Audi kept calling it a 'choo choo'....I guess because it's red.

And the twins showed Audrey how to slide down on her tummy.

And as Johanna said, monkey see, monkey do.

Audrey flung some sand around and enjoyed her self.

She also did some grocery shopping.

And they all liked the John Deere tricycles.

The twins loved the big bubbles Adam blew for them.

But for some reason Audrey wasn't into it and just wanted to put ping pong balls in there. But all afternoon she made me blow bubbles in the back yard.

And the twins also liked their daddy tossing coins around and around.

After the museum the Bakers were kind enough to treat us to lunch at Ojedas. Yum!

If our girls see a bench, they now all jump on it and wait for us to break out the cameras. They're so well trained.

Cheese!

We love our sweet friends!

Here Comes The Sun

Friday it rained all day and we thought the whole weekend was supposed to be rainy and drab... but it was gorgeous up here in Prosper.
So we took advantage of the sunshine and drug Audrey to play some tennis.

Audrey in her tennis skirt
(the shirt that came with it wouldn't fit over her big head)

Yellow is her favorite color so she loved the tennis balls.

And I love this picture because it looks like they're engaged in some deep, important conversation.

Sometimes Simple is the Best

I'm all for surprises and special days like weddings, vacations, anniversaries, etc. But sometimes it's the simple days that end up being the best kind of days.
Today was like any other... breakfast, ballet, lunch and the park with friends, nap, The Little Gym and back home again. But there was something about the warm breeze in the outdoor kitchen tonight over dinner that was just so relaxing. Watching Audrey supervise Barker grilling our steaks and giggle I couldn't help but think of what a great day it was. What a great moment we were in. We weren't doing anything 'special' per say. We are just so lucky to have such great days so often, that they seem ordinary. When really, they're anything but.

Go Fly A Kite

It was unusually chilly and windy for a Sunday in May, so I decided it was a good time to bust out Audi's first kite. (Dora, of course)

She was super excited at first and just ran circles around Barker for a few minutes.

Then he lowered it so she could fly it herself.

She really enjoyed it.

Tiny Dancer

Audrey had her first ballet class today.

She loved the leotard.

Sometimes she's quite shy in a new setting. (Barker and I are the same way so I was totally prepared for her to sit in my lap and watch the first lesson.) But she joined right in as if she's been in dance class a hundred times!

She had several little friends in her class. She'd get nervous from time to time and run back to me, but they'd do something fun and she'd soon be right back with the group.

She has the walking on tip toes down!

Her friend Maya was adjusting her hair for her. So sweet.

Again, on her toes.

She was much younger than the other girls but she did fantastic!
